A Stockholm Wedding with French Influence at Grand Hôtel, Hedvig Eleonora Church & Nyckelvikens Herrgård

I augusti firade J och P sitt bröllop i Stockholm och började helgen med en välkomstmiddag på Nationalmuseum. Där serverades canapéer och vin, och gästerna fick möjlighet att mötas i en avslappnad miljö inför den stora dagen.
Bröllopsdagen var solig och paret gjorde sig i ordning i separata sviter på Grand Hotel bredvid den fördagens lokal i centrala Stockholm. Under förberedelserna tog vi bilder både i rummen och på balkongen med utsikt över Stockholm.
Bröllopets färger var ljusrosa och ljusblå, vilket syntes i följet. Färgerna passade i kvällens festlokal.
Vigseln ägde rum i Hedvig Eleonora kyrka. Enligt svensk tradition gick bruden in själv. En operasångare och en organist stod för musikinslaget. Efter ceremonin gick hela sällskapet till båtbryggan där en båt tog oss genom Stockholms vikar vidare mot Nickleviken i Nacka. Ombord fick gästerna tid att umgås och ta något sött att äta innan utomhusminglet. Gästerna kom från flera olika länder, vilket gav dagen en internationell känsla.
Både brud och brudgum har en personlig koppling till Frankrike – han bodde där tidigare som utbytesstudent, och båda har senare bott där tillsammans i ett tag. Det märktes i detaljerna - menyn, champagnen och vinerna var franska och festlokalen Nyckelvikens Herrgård, med sin franskinspirerade interiör, som drivs av den franska ambassaden.
Under middagen bjöd gästerna på olika överraskningar. Toastmastrarna var kreativa i sina inslag och knöt an till brudparets profession och studier – det var ju under ekonomistudierna när de träffades. Det delades många minnen, och flera av talen berörde både paret och talarna. Kvällen avslutades i herrgårdens huvudbyggnad där alla fortsatte firandet och dansade fram till nattens slut.

In August, J and P celebrated their wedding in Stockholm and started the weekend with a welcome dinner at the Nationalmuseum. Canapés and wine were served, giving guests the chance to meet and relax before the big day.
The wedding day was sunny, and the couple got ready in separate suites at the Grand Hôtel, right next to the day’s venue in central Stockholm. During the preparations, we took photos both inside the suites and out on the balcony overlooking the city.
The wedding colors were light pink and light blue, which could be seen throughout the wedding party. The colors also matched the evening reception venue.
The ceremony took place at Hedvig Eleonora Church. Following Swedish tradition, the bride walked in by herself. An opera singer and an organist provided the music. After the ceremony, everyone walked to the pier where a boat took us through Stockholm’s bays toward Nickleviken in Nacka. On board, guests had time to socialize and enjoy a sweet treat before the outdoor mingle. The guests came from several different countries, which gave the day an international feel.
Both the bride and groom have a personal connection to France—he lived there as an exchange student, and later the couple also lived there for a while. This was incorporated in many details: the menu, champagne, and wines were all French, as well as the reception venue, Nyckelvikens Herrgård, features French-inspired interior design and is managed by the French Embassy.
During dinner, the guests surprised the couple with various performances. The toastmasters were creative and tied their entertainment to the couple’s profession and studies—it was during their economics studies that they first met. Many memories were shared, and several speeches were emotional for both the couple and the speakers. The evening ended in the main manor's building, where everyone continued celebrating and danced late into the night.
