Colourful Stockholm Engagement Photoshoot in Gamla Stan

Engagement PHOTOSHOOT IN GAMLA STAN, STOCKHOLM

I met Amando and Charese in Stockholm in late afternoon for their engagement photoshoot in Gamla Stan. The city was quiet and even though the sun was out as it was cold outside. They both are not particulary used to such harsh climates.

With time zones and continents in between, they’ve chosen to meet in different places whenever possible to spend the time together. This time they chose Stockholm and decided to mark the trip with an engagement session.

We began in front of the Royal Palace and made our way through some of the most recognisable parts of Gamla Stan. The main square, Stortorget, was unusually empty for that time of day, which gave us space to shoot without interruption. From there, we wandered through cobbled alleys and past old facades, stopping often to take in the surroundings.

Since Charese has Texan roots, we made a quick stop by a local restaurant hinting at that connection so far away from home.

Stockholm, for all its cold, remains one of the most beautiful and diverse capitals in the region. The city’s historic centre, especially Gamla Stan, offers a blend of architecture and light that works especially well for engagement shoots.

As a local photographer, if you're planning a couples or engagement session in Stockholm and are drawn to settings with history, colour and classic European architecture, Gamla Stan is well worth considering.

I am a people and wedding photographer based in Stockholm. I photograph couples, solo travelers, engagement photoshoots in Stockholm and can also share some tips as a local for some cafes and museums! Let me know if you would like to have a shoot like this or if you have any questions! Contact
